My holiday so far.

My break so far has pretty amazing. Nathaniel, Kayley, and I left about 12:30 on Friday. Traffic in Atlanta was pretty bad so we didn't really get home until about 11. I have this thing about long car rides I always tend to get sick. My Mom and my theory about it is claustrophobia, being in a confined space for an extended period of time. I didn't really get sick though. I think mainly because I closed my eyes for most of the trip even when I wasn't sleeping.
On Saturday my friend Abby came over. I insanely missed her. It isn't really home without Abby and when you know her you understand why. Then later after her dad finally got home to watch her younger siblings Mom, Jonathan, Abby, and her mom all went over to Gainesville to see Twilight and afterward we went to Sunny's.
On Sunday it was nice to go to a church with a traditional service. In Knoxville all I really contemporary services, which are fine, I just miss those that remind me of home.
On Monday Mom, Jonathan, and I went with the church to help out with Operation Christmas Child. They ship shoe boxes of stuff to Children around the world. The kids get something for Christmas and get the gospel as well. We all end up sore but it was worth it. Jonathan was sore from loading the boxes. I think I pulled a muscle bending over all the boxes I was taping. Mom wasn't able to do much heavy work but she held the baby for about four hours at least. Sitting in the same position that long can hurt. That night I also ordered some warmer clothes which I'm hoping to get by the time I get to school. I'm also excited because I will have a nice jacket I can wear to church, something I don't have.
On Tuesday we were hurting so I didn't expect to go anywhere, but we needed to get my jacket from the Kirby's, a laser and needle place. Then Mom just randomly drove to Starke. I don't think I've ever gone anywhere spontaneously. Well I have somewhat. But not while I'm already in the car. It's been more of a thing where you ask and then go. Not while you're driving, you drive to a different town. It was good though. I got a new cell phone which I'm ecstatic about and some other things from Walmart I was needing.
I've had a good break and it's only Wednesday.

Strangeness that is Tennessee.

I was born and raised in Florida, to me Tennessee is almost a brand new world. I don't think however long I'm here I'll get over it. It's kind of amazing.

1. There are hills. That's not always fun but thankfully they aren't steep at all but sometimes it would be nice that when I'm walking down to the computer lab the ground was flat.

2. There are mountains. I like them but I think I like the mountains I saw in Montana better. The ones here have way too many trees.

3. The air is clean. It's nice going a semester without getting sick every other week.

4. The leaves change color, and I'm not talking green to brown. I was walking to Nathaniel and Kayley's apartment last Sunday so I could ride with them to church and in the grass in front of where the cars are parked for his dorm I saw yellow leaves. It seriously looked like they were plucked out of a painting. They were so beautiful. Yes I know I'm getting excited over leaves. Although the Sunday before we were riding with our friend Belinda to somebody's house after church and I saw red leaves and they were the same color red my hair used to be and not orange red, but dripped in red paint red. So beautiful. If I had to chose it's probably my favorite thing about Tennessee. Even though I've been out of Florida it hasn't been during this time of year that I'm able to remember.

5. The other thing that I don't remember happening in Florida is the rain. Yes it rains in Florida, but I don't remember it doing so in the middle of November. I also don't remember it misting. That is disgusting. It's like it's not raining yet you are wet and sticky. Of course I also understood the concept of sheets of rain now...
